"This was my second stay at Ouse Bridge and everything about my two days here was great. The room was a good size, the bed was comfy, great shower and facilities. Free parking on site. The breakfast was delicious and lots of choice! We made use of the fridge in the communal lounge for our pack up. V and Ben (and their children) are very friendly & welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. It's like home from home."

Tip:
"This hotel is in a perfect location, 4 minutes from Cockermouth and 12 minutes from Keswick; both lovely towns with bars, restaurants, cafes, shops. We used Ouse Bridge as a base and managed to tick off lots of places to visit including Buttermere, Infinity Pools, Cathedral Cave, Slaters Bridge, Scale Force Waterfall, Derwent Water, Surprise View, Fleetwith Pike, Warnscale Bothy (we got the photo of the perfect view from 'the window'). There are lots more places to visit, all within a 20 minute drive. Perfect for day tripping."

"Loved everything :-
The House itself - the guest living room is so welcoming, homely and comfortable with homemade cookies for grabs, teas and coffees and cold drinks, beers in the fridge (honesty box), books to read and a cozy looking fire.
The dogs are also welcome and provided with a lush doggy towel and water bowel.
The breakfast is to suit every pallet (including Gluten fee) + perfectly prepared/cooked . I can recommend the seeded porridge with fresh fruit and local honey - yum 🤤
The coffee is freshly ground and I believe it’s delish- I’ve brought some home to try and some honey . Quality food .
The view from my window was stunning !! I watched the sunrise over the lake every morning 😍
And what an absolutely awesome family - so friendly and helpful and brilliant hosts .
I would not hesitated to return here and hope to before the year is out.

Tip:
"Lake Bassenthwaite - opposite the hotel, is beautiful. Not many people and you can relax and read a book by the lake. Across the road you have the Bassenthwaite Replica Orient Express cafe - the coffee is good . I didn’t eat but I did have a delicious slice of lemon and poppy seed gluten free cake .
You can also spend some time in the surroundings, as there is a nature reserve to enjoy/walk round, benches to sit on , ducks to watch.
The Whinlatter forester is just down the road - beautiful walks / bike rides and cafe
Keswick and the Derwentwater is just 10 minutes drive away with boat rides,Theatre, cafes, restaurants etc
I ate my evening meal at The Pheasant Inn which is walking distance from Ouse Bridge House. The chickpea curry with yoghurt /mint dressing was delicious.
There are also mountains to climb. Closest one is Skiddaw.
Mountains, forests, lakes all one place. What more could you want if that’s your thing. Loved it 🥰 "
