The milking parlour was a fab hidden gem for lunch after a walk around Calke abbey. We also enjoyed going into Melbourne for dinner and drinks and highly recommend Amalfi White.

A fantastic glamping site, worth every penny. Cleanliness and friendliness can't be faltered. It was a perfect retreat with extra little touches from our hosts making it one to remember.

Plenty to do in the area including Calke Abbey for walking, cycling and exploring; located right next to Foremark Reservoir with a fab play park just under a 10 minute walk from the site complete with cafe and lovely walks; we discovered a 1950s American diner that was delicious (gets busy - you may need to book!). If running is your thing - Kerry & Rupert are happy to share local knowledge of good routes!

The perfect glamping experience! 5 star all round ⭐️ Kerry & Ruperts attention to detail to create the ultimate glamping experience really stood out, they clearly put so much thought into this new venture on their beautiful idyllic farm. Some plus points incude: Beautifully furnished tent, twinkling lights, giant marshmallows for toasting, milk & treats on arrival, wildflower boarders, outdoor games, fully equipped kitchen, so easy to use for dinners, breakfasts whatever, personal shower/bath room complete with products, lanterns with USB for phone charging, even dog blankets & biscuits! Broadleaves exceeded all expectations….

Short walk through woodland to Foreman’s Reservoir, think watersports available. National Trust cafe & playground short walk down the bridleway. Caulke Abbey Estate very close by. Scaddows Vineyard as neighbours- delicious British wine! Melbourne sweet town to visit, lots of cafes at least one was dog friendly, we particularly loved The Deli & butchers and a large Sainsbury’s local for provisions to cook with was useful. Fish & chip shop also very good. Ashby is a bigger market down close by, fun for a mooch - especially if you like the charity shops. Repton with its beautiful school was interesting. Countless walks and footpaths all around Ticknall itself, which has a few pubs, we preferred to embrace the glamping & cook there, I did see other guests with take away pizza!
