A simply magical place to stay with stunning views and beautifully furnished throughout. When we arrived it was raining but as we stepped into the cosy cottage all warm for our arrival everything fell into place. Did lots of walking around the area and we dined well locally. I am a frequent traveller and user of rental cottages Sandpiper is above and beyond… best part was sitting on the patio with tea and toast in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. Would so like return. Judith was very helpful as I was booking from Australia.

Ideal for walkers… on the bookshelf there is a small books of Gunnerside walks which we made use of doing five in three days. Shower is a lip type complex to navigate but it all worked out. Light the fire if you can as it gives a lovely glow in the evening. If you feel the cold you will be delighted with Sandpiper as it is cosy and warm but not at all stuffy. The Punchbowl down the road does lovely meals and is well worth a visit.

This lovely cottage was exactly as promised: in a great location, roomy and comfortable. We loved the outside terrace with its gorgeous views, the well-equipped kitchen with spacious dining area and again, views and the very comfortable mezzanine bedroom with its window seat, perfect for gazing at: you guessed it. The area offers plenty of opportunities for walking and afterwards enjoying a pint or a meal at one of the local pubs or tearooms. Plenty of information on this is provided by the owners. In all, a wonderful home away from home!

Just soak up the beautiful area the drive over the moors to Askrigg is beautiful. But there are so many lovely drives. Unfortunately we cannot walk far now but we see so many people enjoying walking. The Reeth bakery sells the best bread ever and Reeths little Friday market is worth a visit, as is the ice cream parlour selling Brymour ice cream.
