A 5 minute walk to the center of everything - really well positioned but on a very steep hill for getting back to.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blenheim Lodge. Robert and Janz looked after us exceptionally well and they went the extra mile in ensuring that our stay was pleasurable. We felt really welcomed by them. we had a lovely room which had a view of the lake and the full cooked breakfasts were excellent. the living room had spectacular views of the lake and there is nothing more relaxing than ending a day with a cup of tea and watching the sun set over the lake from the comfort of a living room in a Victorian villa.

During our stay in Bowness-on-Windermere, we took a cruise across the lake on The Queen of The Lake which was built in 1949 and was used in the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and took the Mountain Goat bus to Hawkshead which passes Hill Top Farm where Beatrix Potter lived. We travelled around on the bus to Keswick, Ambleside, Grasmere and Rydal. We can recommend restaurants and cafes which we had been to. The Badger Bar in Rydal has excellent food and every evening at dusk, the local badgers come to be fed. if you have never seen a badger in the wild, the Badger Bar is a place where you are almost certainly guaranteed to see them. The Albert In Bowness has great food too and the sharing platter is great value. Mr H's Tearoom in Ambleside was a quaint tearoom with an eclectic variety of tea served in lovely china cups and arty teapots.

Dear Kenny and Sylvia, Thank you so much for your wonderful review of your stay with us! It was a joy to have you both to stay and to get to know you a little. You were such fabulous guests, and we feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to host the two of you! It's also really amazing that you both managed to do so much by just using public transport. Having travelled on the local buses ourselves, we know that you and Sylvia would have had all the opportunity to enjoy the scenic Lake District roads and lanes and the amazing vistas of lakes, rivers, streams, fells, and even waterfalls without needing also to concentrate on the roads had you been driving! Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to host you and Sylvia. It was lovely to meet you both. We would be ever so delighted to have you both visit with us again next time you are thinking of venturing to the Lake District National Park.
