An absolute brilliant place to unwind with excellent self catering facilities. Host Ann welcomed us with goodies for our first day and help was on hand if needed. Comfy bed and quietness helped us to rest and relax. We are regular visitors to Pickering and always use Laura's Cottage for our stay.

Tips for other travellers

Pickering is a lively town 3 miles away where small shops provide all necessities as well as larger stores. Potters Hill for fish and chips, Cedar Barn Farm for good quality meals and farm produce.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Laura's Cottage which we found both exceptionally comfortable and clean. The furnishings were of a very high quality and we wanted for nothing. On arrival we were met by our very friendly host, Ann, who had kindly left us wine, chocolates,crisps, milk, biscuits and a plate of the most delicious home baked cakes.

What a fantastic,clean and homely holiday in the most adorable cottage with Ann the best host ever, they made us so welcome with delightful scones,flowers and many treats, so would highly recommend Laura's Cottage, more expensive than we usually go for but well worth every penny !!!! What a treat and a wonderful family - thank you and see you again soon !!! x

Tips for other travellers

Cropton is well located for access to the high moors and shops at Pickering and Kirkbymoorside. The coastal resorts of Whitby, Scarborough and Filey are 20-30 miles away. Plenty of pubs and restaurants within a few miles. The cottage is on a farm (clean, no smells or animal noises) at the end of a half-mile single-track lane, parts of which are not tarmac-ed.
