"Northlands holds a special place in our hearts. Initially, we had been using Pitlochry as a pit-stop on the way to and from the far north of Scotland for a couple of years. In 2015, we were unable to book our usual B&B but as luck would have it, we fortunately stumbled upon Northlands and since that first visit, we have never looked for anywhere else in Pitlochry. In fact, we no longer use Pitlochry merely as a pit-stop to somewhere else, due to the wonderful welcome we received that very first time ten years ago. Since then we have made at least two visits per year (disregarding the Covid years, obviously!) and each time is as wonderful as the last.
Our experience on that first occasion and the warmth and hospitality of the owners, Pauline and David Duncan, planted a seed in our minds to find out more about the local area. Their knowledge of the area, its history and what is going on in and around Pitlochry today is encyclopaedic. They have continued to provide us with new nuggets of information to help make our stay interesting and enjoyable.

A stay at Northlands feeds not only the mind and soul but also, thankfully, the body. The breakfasts are superb. All dietary requirements are catered for. The homemade marmalade, jams and fruit compote are lovely and the choice is second to none. For me, the vegetarian breakfast, with stir fried butterbeans, mushrooms, tomatoes and a poached egg, on a homemade tattie scone takes some beating but every breakfast I've had the pleasure to eat at Northlands has been a joy, served in the gorgeous dining room.

The bedrooms are warm and cosy, with thoughtful touches to make you feel at home, such as the welcome wee dram.

The location is perfect too, just a short walk from the centre of town, set in a lovely garden with a small stream running through it.

Needless to say, we're looking forward to visiting Pauline, David and the lovely Peppie again...we've already booked!"

Fern Cottage, The Auld Smiddy and Hettie's Tea Rooms. are favourites places for us.
In Aberfeldy, we like KB's Italian Kitchen for great pizza and pasta.
In Dunkeld, Palmerston's offers lovely food at very reasonable prices. Their range of jams and chutneys,made in the neighbouring premises, are superb. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful house, Pauline & David were so welcoming & helpful. Pauline told us all about places of interest & the history that went with it, really helped us to enjoy the area to the full. David cooked super breakfasts! Lovely room with every comfort. We would highly recommend this wonderful B & B. Hope to stay there again.
