"A stay at Northlands is truly unforgettable.

For context, I typically book Airbnbs when traveling to Scotland, but this time I chose a bed-and-breakfast in hopes of a more personal experience. I’ll admit, I had a small concern-what if I wasn’t feeling particularly social and the experience felt too overwhelming? As it turns out, I got the best of both worlds.

Pauline and her husband David are exceptional hosts-warm, attentive, and welcoming, yet never intrusive. They have a natural way of making you feel at ease, and before long, I found myself genuinely enjoying our daily conversations. In fact, I already miss them, just a week after our trip.

The setting itself is equally remarkable. From the charm of Pitlochry to the beauty of Northlands and its elegant interior, everything feels warm and thoughtfully curated. There’s a sense of understated luxury that reminded me of the kind of refinement you might expect from a place like the Ritz-timeless, comfortable, and quietly special.

My daughter, my mother, and I stayed for seven nights in April 2026, and it was a highlight of our trip. It’s the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave.

I almost hesitate to write this review because part of me wants to keep Northlands a hidden gem-but if you’re considering a stay here, don’t hesitate. You won’t regret it, and you’ll likely find yourself thinking about your time here for months, if not years, afterward."
