"A most delightful experience the ambiance was superb the feeling of being surrounded by history was great already have friends and family from Canada looking to stay in the castle when next they are over we have told them they will not be disappointed "

"We went to a local restaurant in Whitecraig called the Mercat which was excellent ,menu food and service were great and reasonably priced The vue’s from the castle are fantastic and the walks around the countryside were great"

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay at Faside Castle. It was wonderful to stay in the countryside away from the chaos of Edinburgh. Both of the hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the castle and surrounding area, and the views were magnificent. My only note would be to mention in the listing how high the spiral staircase is (e.g. how many steps to get to the bedroom), and perhaps advise travelers with health conditions or heavy suitcases that it may not be suitable for them. (I have a heart condition, and my poor wife had to schlep our very heavy suitcases up and down the stairs by herself since I couldn’t help much.) But aside from that, our stay was lovely. "

Tip:
"We’d ABSOLUTELY recommend taking a day trip to Berwick and visiting the Scottish Seabird Center. The center itself has an interesting exhibit and very knowledgeable staff. Additionally, you can take a boat tour to the nearby islands to see the birds up close. The town itself is also super cute, and definitely worth the drive. "
