"All the staff were very welcoming, super friendly and v attentive
The food presentation was beautiful and was very tasty. The choices on the menu were great as they included some staples but also some different things like venison. Fab cheese and biscuits with local cheese and no skimping on biscuits! Also really pleased to see some English wines on wine list.
Loved our room - it was very spacious and the bed was super comfy. We only noticed the next day that it lacked windows - there was only 1 small window and a couple of skylights so no views but for 1 night we didn’t mind. The room also appeared to be new whereas the other rooms look like they were in the old building with more character ours was more functional. Also loved the Bramley toiletries. "

"We weren’t in the area very long as we literally came for the night and went home next day because of the stormy weather conditions so can’t offer anything useful here "

"From the warm welcome ,we immediately relaxed for our two night stay and we were sad to leave.
The pub was buzzing with a friendly vibe. Staff very friendly and attentive. The menu consisted of something for every taste. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Some of the best we have tasted.
Our room was comfortable with everything we could need and very fresh and clean.
All in all a wonderful stay."

"Two National Trust properties.
Wakehurst - home to the National seed bank.
Standen house for those who, like the previous owner, love William Morris designs."
