"Had a wonderful stay on Knoydart, in Ivy Cottage. It's only 2-3 minutes walk from the ferry and with lovely views across the loch, so a perfect location.
The cottage was warm and comfortable, and had a lovely feel to it with traditional and modern features throughout. The log burner worked very well and was very welcome after a long day out on the hills.
Definitely recommended!"

Tip:
"We had a takeaway delivered to the cottage from River Cottage which was amazing! It wasn't cheap at £27 for a 3-course meal, but worth every penny!

We also did a long walk (~22km) around the headland to Inverguseran, hoping to come back along the road via the river crossing. The river crossing was impassable due to all the rain there'd been, however by heading back along the south side of the river (through the gate in the deer fence), we found a path that brought us out at the bridge for the road/track 2miles upstream."

"We had a lovely week at Ivy Cottage in Inverie. The Knoydart peninsula is such a beautiful and unique place. Thank you to Maggie for handling our booking during Covid times - we were so grateful to get away after lockdown. The cottage is spacious and well-equipped. Well situated a few minutes walk from ferry."

Tip:
"Access only by ferry adds to the unique charm of Inverie but remember to bring what you need. Staff at the Spar in Mallaig were great at sending over our additional supplies on the ferry. We had great food at the Look Out and Old Forge Inn. Amie the ranger provided a fantastic ‘walk and talk’ in and around Inverie -we learned so much about past and present life on Knoydart. Great walks to waterfall at Folach, up Sgurr coire choinnichean, and to Glaschoille. Hope to return soon. The Birrell Family."
