"The cottages themselves were lovely, and just what we need to get everyone together for a weekend away. I did think for the price there were some things lacking - an extra toilet roll or two, dishwasher tablets, a clothes drying rack, shower gel in the bathrooms and a welcome pack for the area including wifi information and local amenaties. I visit very air bnb's and self catered properties that don't have these things available."

Thank you for your comments; I am pleased that the cottages provided what you needed for a family get together. You mention details of wifi and local amenities. I sent you an email before you arrived with details of the wifi, including the password and links to the Cottage Handbook which contains lots of details of the shops, pubs, cafes and attractions in Castleton and the surrounding area. The email also tells you about our policy on cleaning supplies. Drying racks, irons and ironing boards are supplied on request.

"Good communication, cooking for 11 we could have benefited from a large pot. We washed up by hand (no problem) but why not supply a couple of dishwasher tabkets."

"We had a lovely stay. Perfect location quiet, easy parking and 2 minutes walk into the centre. Well resourced with everything you need and excellent facilities. Owners are very friendly and helpful with local information. We stayed in the Gardners cottage and it was just the right size for us. It could maybe benefit from a small comfty sofa and a dimmable light in the lounge. We would definitely stay again, it's such a relaxing place to stay with beautiful views. Our daughter loved her room and our own little garden next to the sheep.Thank you for a lovely stay."

Tip:
"Peak Cavern has gigs on to book, we would try this next time.

Lots of nice pubs, our favourite was The old nags head for local beers.
Lots of amazing walks, "

"We have been coming here regularly for several years and always have such a warm welcome, it feels like a second home. So peaceful and comfortable. A wonderful base to get around the lovely Derbyshire countryside whether by car , on foot or by bike. We shall be returning again next year. Can’t wait!"

Tip:
"Lots of lovely pubs and restaurants in the village, great takeaway pizzas from The George. Excellent food from the Peveril Tearooms. Good service from ASD Jewellers who made a special order for us for Blue John earrings. Helpful advice from the Visitors Centre. Good local shopping down the village in the Post Office and local stores. Fish and Chip shop open every day. "
