"We, a group of ten gents on a walking and ale break had a fantastic four night stay in The Stables and The Barn. These are two separate properties but they abut one and other and so walking between them is effortless. The site is great in itself and in terms of its location such that all of the amenities that Castleton has to offer are but a short and delightful stroll away and hill walking in the surrounding countryside is pretty much straight off of the site. As far as we are concerned Goosehill Hall Holiday Cottages delivers on all fronts and we very much hope to return next year. "

Tip:
"For drinking and eating in convivial, pubby surroundings, we really liked the Cheshire Cheese in Castleton (not to be confused with the Cheshire Cheese in neighbouring village Hope, which we also really liked and makes for a great stop after doing the famous Mam Tor/ Lose Hill walk) and the Peak Hotel. The Swiss House Bar in Castleton, opposite the Cheshire Cheese, is a bit of a contemporary space rather than traditional pub venue but it's good for watching sporting events and drinking craft beer if that's your thing. There is a great little Fish and Chip shop in Castleton, tucked away down a lane running off of the Market Place, but its opening days and hours are limited so make sure you do your research. "
